GEORGESMITH founded the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts in 2006.èƽ is the first school in the world to offer a PhD in philosophy especiallydesigned for visual artists, curators, and creative scholars. Professor Smithserves on the èƽ Core Faculty.He lectures andwrites onliterature, the visual arts, visual culture, psychoanalytic theory, philosophyof education, and the history of science and technology.
